WebBuzz: Before checking in, check out DealAngel.com

Share

Do you trust your usual go-to travel website to deliver the best hotel deal, or are you just using it out of habit?

Name: DealAngel.com

What it does: Attempts to relieve hotel search fatigue by showing you only hotel deals that provide good value. It also points out the rip-offs. Punch in your destination and dates and get hotel recommendations based on how good a deal it is (think value over price).

What’s hot: I fell in love with the visual search and flexible date bar. I want to visit friends in San Francisco and New York, but seeing which weekends are cheapest before I start crunching numbers was a huge help. Also, the info was easy to access. Once you click on a hotel, you can quickly toggle between its deal rank analysis, rates, reviews and more.

What’s not: I was obsessed with hunting for an “Awesome Deal,” but I never found one after searching cities such as San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Charleston, S.C. I started looking at “not ranked deals” and then sorting them by star rating. I’d love it if DealAngel let us know, either on the home page or by newsletter, when awesome deals do exist.
