Despite officially being up for sale since last August, Chrysler LLC is still seeking a buyer for its Viper brand. Built since 1992, the Viper sports car is not among the assets to be retained by post-bankruptcy and Fiat-led Chrysler, despite the car’s iconic status thanks to various international motorsports victories, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The price? That will be $10 million, thanks.

Embarrassingly enough, only one bid has been received thus far. Michigan-based Devon Motor Works has reportedly offered Chrysler $5.5 million for the Viper brand and would lease the Viper plant from Chrysler for a year.

As part of its restructuring efforts, Chrysler is seeking to rid itself of $2 billion in assets. That makes the whole Viper deal pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Chrysler seems to agree, as it is now attempting to confirm that Devon Motor Works has access to financing, according to the Detroit Free Press.
