Two weeks ago we had Milwaukee Brewer outfielder Ryan Braun buying in Malibu; this week it’s catcher Jason Kendall selling in Manhattan Beach for $5.45 million.

The Mediterranean-style house, in the “hill section” of the beach community, has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 7,398 square feet.

Kendall, 35, purchased the two-story house for $3.32 million in 2000, the year it was built. Between then and joining the Brewers, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs.

The property came on the market in September at $7.3 million, was withdrawn at the end of April and was relisted in June at $6.3 million. Regardless of the pricing, he bought long ago enough to turn a profit.

And, yes, there are more photos at latimes.com.
