Opinion: YouTube reimagined by Hollywood

Several media conglomerates are reportedly developing a user-generated video site to compete with YouTube. There are hints that the venture would actually rely on users to post video clips, rather than trying to force-feed them the ones that its owners want to promote. That would be a welcome break from past practice. Nevertheless, there are several reasons why this project, if it comes to pass, isn’t likely to end well. Read more at the Bit Player blog.
