Boys’ water polo: Jorth provided Sailors with competitive advantage

Newport Harbor sat out an elite tournament during the Southern California wildfires while other Orange County schools went ahead and played. It put the Sailors at a competitive disadvantage. Except the Sailors had Clinton Jorth, who led Newport Harbor to its 12th section title and was name Player of the Year by the OC Register.

Jorth stood out on the all-county team, which included two players from Newport Harbor, Villa Park and El Toro and one from Los Alamitos.

The Coach of the Year? Advantage, Villa Park, whose John Carcich was honored.
