The personal fouls are adding up for Mater Dei in the Division II state final, but the Monarchs still maintain a 44-34 lead over San Jose Mitty after three quarters at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

Gary Franklin, Travis Wear and Andy Brown each have four fouls, and David Wear has three. Mater Dei isn’t even a physical team, how are they getting all these fouls?

John Adams has fouled out for Mitty after going over the back on a rebound so blatantly he fell on his face. He then slammed his fist on the court like he didn’t deserve the call, earning a technical foul and the rest of the night on the bench. Collin Chiverton, the hackmaster for Mitty, also has four fouls.

At least the Yule Brynner lookalike ref appears to be acting alone. Another ref actually called a blocking foul on Mitty in the third quarter.
