Just when it looked as if Mater Dei was ready to end this Southern Section-Toyota Division I semifinal marathon, fourth-seeded Simi Valley came through again.

It was the bottom of the 10th inning. Mater Dei had the bases loaded. There was one out. Aaron Northcraft hit a ground ball up the middle, but shortstop Kyle Raskin picked it up, stepped on second and threw to first to complete a double play.

It’s 5-5 going into the 11th inning.

The inning started with Blake Arthur getting a single off Jonathan Meyer. He was bunted to second by Cory Hahn. Jacob Medina hit a ground ball that bounced over the head of Meyer that he beat out for an infield single. Tyler Rahmatulla was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Now Matt Orloff of Simi Valley has led off the 11th with a double, and Mater Dei is pulling Matt Blanchard to bring in Northcraft to the mound.

Simi Valley has 14 hits. Mater Dei has 18 hits.

What a game.
