Baseball: Simi Valley takes 6-5 lead in 11th inning

Matt Orloff scored from third on a sacrifice fly by Eric Bernstein to give fourth-seeded Simi Valley a 6-5 lead in the top of the 11th inning against Mater Dei in the Southern Section-Toyota Division I semifinal at UC Riverside.

Orloff led off with a double. Matt Blanchard was replaced on the mound by Aaron Northcraft. Brent Keys put down a bunt, and no one covered first. Bernstein followed with his fly ball.

Mater Dei will have its Nos. 4, 5 and 6 batters coming up in their half of the inning.
