Is there anything Crescenta Valley’s Baillie Kirker hasn’t done?

The junior is already the Southern Section’s new home run queen, having broken both single season and career records this year. She hit 16 as a freshman alone, which is a state record for a freshman, and topped that this season by hitting 18. The Arizona-bound infielder is also in a home run race with Crenshaw’s Alia Williams, who has 19, for the single season state record. She can play shortstop or catcher as well.

Is there anything she hasn’t done? Oh yeah: played in a championship game. Unbeaten Crescenta Valley (29, 14 Pacific), the No. 1 seed in Division III, will play in their first Southern Section-Toyota semifinal game in nearly a decade today when they host La Serna (25-4, 10-0 Del Rio) at 3:15 p.m.

The winner plays either Cajon or Paloma Valley in the championship game this weekend in Irvine.

To get even more ready for the game, read that first and then this.
