Softball: La Serna-Paloma Valley Division III final about to start

Unseeded La Serna (26-4) is sending its ace, Holly Consterdine, to the mound in the Southern Section-Toyota Division III championship game Friday at Barber Park in Irvine. Consterdine, a senior, is a Division I-caliber pitcher at the next level. She struck out 11 in the Lancers’ 3-2 victory over top-seeded Crescenta Valley in the semifinals.

Paloma Valley (23-8) is countering with senior A.J. Woodward (20-3), who struck out 17 in a 12-inning game earlier in the playoffs. She has 212 strikeouts in 151 innings pitched this season.
