Baseball: Chatsworth’s Weissberg is off to great start

Chatsworth senior outfielder Andy Weissberg is the hitter to watch on the City Section Division I title favorites.

Weissberg has started the season with 20 hits in 39 at-bats for a .513 average. He also has seven doubles and 17 runs batted in for the 10-1 Chancellors.

Senior left-hander Mike Renner has emerged as the No. 1 pitcher in the City Section. He’s 3-0 with a 1.52 earned-run average. In 23 innings, he has 21 strikeouts and five walks.
