Baseball: Juan Rocha strikes out 14 for San Gorgonio

Pitcher Juan Rocha won his 10th game of the season and struck out 14 with no walks as San Gorgonio defeated Cerritos Gahr, 4-1, in a Southern Section Division 3 playoff game.

In Division 4, top-seeded Palm Desert held on for a 5-4 victory over Pasadena La Salle. Scott Burcham went three for three. Brooks Kriske picked up the save.

No. 2 La Puente Bishop Amat defeated Ventura St. Bonaventure, 3-0. Ryan Serrato struck out 11 in five innings. Pinch hitter Andrew Gutierrez contributed a two-out, two-run triple in sixth inning to break a 0-0 deadlock. Josh Grajeda pitched a complete game in defeat for St. Bonaventure.

In Division 5, L.A. Cathedral defeated Ontario Christian, 9-1. Joshua Ibarra had a home run, double and single. Jaime Figueroa added three hits.
