Baseball: Cody Bennett is summer standout for West Ranch

Junior pitcher Cody Bennett of West Ranch is finally getting his chance to pitch on varsity, and he has come through with a 5-0 record and 1.44 ERA in summer baseball in the VIBL.
‘He has been a monster for us,’ said Coach Casey Burrill of the 6-foot right-hander who has a sidearm delivery.
Bennett has been the top pitcher for the freshman and junior varsity teams the last two years.
West Ranch is 12-2 overall. The VIBL playoffs are scheduled to begin on July 20.
