Professional baseball scouts are going to have to wait until the third week of October to get their next look at Harvard-Westlake’s pitching duo of Lucas Giolito and Max Fried.

Practice began Tuesday for the Wolverines, but Giolito and Fried won’t be throwing under orders from Coach Matt LaCour.

‘They need rest,’ LaCour said.

Fried will be getting time in the outfield. Giolito will be working on his pickoff move.

And scouts will be waiting patiently to keep track of two players who project as first-round draft picks. Both are scheduled to sign with UCLA during the early signing period in November.
