Boys’ basketball: Alemany clinches Mission League title

Mission Hills Alemany clinched the Mission League championship on Monday night after a 78-61 win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

The Warriors are 23-3 and 10-1 in league. It’s the first league title in basketball for Alemany since 1999 and was Coach Tray Meeks’ 100th career win. Marqueze Coleman made five three-pointers and finished with 21 points. Max Guercy had 21 points and five assists.

Encino Crespi defeated Studio City Harvard-Westlake, 63-57. London Perrantes scored 22 points and Mike Avery 15 for an important road victory for the Celts (20-6, 7-5). Zena Edosomwan scored 24 points for the Wolverines (16-9, 6-5).

West Hills Chaminade, which won only one Mission League game last season, defeated St. Francis, 48-39, to improve to 16-9 overall and 5-6 in league. Zach Miller scored 12 points and sophomore Jack Williams had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart set up a Wednesday showdown at St. Bernard to decide the Camino Real League championship after defeating St. Paul, 73-45. Jose Estrada had 24 points.

Gardena Serra defeated La Salle, 79-44, to finish 8-0 in the Del Rey League. Daddy Ugbede had 18 points for Serra (24-2), ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division 4AA.

In the Marmonte League, Calabasas (22-3, 12-1) remained in first place with a 68-53 win over Newbury Park. Jeremy Lieberman scored 17 points and Holden Israel 14.

Righetti (19-4, 8-2) defeated Atascadero, 66-54. Hunter Walker scored 17 points.
