Top-seeded Woodland Hills El Camino Real is heavily favored to win Friday night’s City Section Division II championship game at Roybal. But the Conquistadores had better not take Garfield lightly.

The Bulldogs will have a large, vocal crowd showing up, because that’s what Garfield fans do. They show up in large numbers and cheer for their team. And the team has a red-hot shooter in senior Francisco Aguilar, who has scored 17, 32 and 26 points in three playoff victories.

Also key to the team is 6-foot-4 Joe Joaquin, a good rebounder and scorer.

Coach Ricardo Rivas, a Garfield grad, had the Bulldogs in last season’s Division III championship game, so they know how to play well at Roybal.

Rivas and Aguilar talk about the game on LA36’s ‘SoCal Prep Report’ that airs Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
