A 51-year-old nurse shot and killed a man in a van in Point Loma Tuesday, then attempted unsuccessfully to shoot herself, San Diego police said. Alice Dimaculangan, a registered nurse at Kaiser Permanente Hospital for three years, was in good condition at UC San Diego Medical Center after the shooting in a parked van in the 1000 block of Anchorage Lane. The name of the man, his relationship to the woman and the motive for the shooting were under investigation late Tuesday, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Dimaculangan tried to shoot herself, but the bullet only grazed her, hospital spokeswoman Pat JaCoby said.
