Career Diplomat Selected as New Envoy to Colombia

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan Tuesday nominated career diplomat Charles Gillespie Jr. to be the new ambassador to Colombia, succeeding Lewis Tambs. Gillespie, 50, is currently deputy assistant secretary of state for the Caribbean.
