A 65-year-old man who was wanted on a Los Angeles murder charge 20 years ago was ordered returned to California from Pennsylvania to face trial. Armondo Liberati was sought in the Sept. 9, 1964, stabbing death of Frederick Shaheen, 52, and the critical wounding of Liberati’s estranged wife, Maryann Carter, now 67, authorities said. At the time of his death, Shaheen allegedly was having an affair with Carter. Liberati was arrested in February outside his South Philadelphia apartment, where he had lived under an assumed name for 17 years.
