Western Center Rising for Nikon

Construction has begun on a 73,000-square-foot Nikon West Coast Regional Headquarters building at 19601 Hamilton Ave. in Cabot Cabot & Forbes’ 65-acre Harbor Technology Center. Completion is scheduled for August, with September occupancy.

In a two-phased transaction, Nikon has purchased the five-acre site and will buy the build-to-suit, two-story, tilt-up, sand-blasted building with black tinted galss. The agreed price of more than $10 million will include both land and structure.

Nikon’s building will contain 33,000 square feet of office space, with the remainder to be used for warehousing. The center, in the southwest quadrant of the San Diego-Harbor freeways interchange, is bounded by Vermont and Hamilton Avenues, Knox Street and Del Amo Boulevard.
