Pedestrian Dies of Injuries: A pedestrian struck while crossing El Toro Road near the Santa Ana Freeway off-ramp died Sunday of his injuries, California Highway Patrol Officer Lupe Lopez said. Ross Jarvis, 69, of Mission Viejo was admitted to Mission Community Hospital Friday with major injuries after he tried to cross the intersection against a “Don’t Walk” sign, Lopez said. The driver, who had a green light, didn’t see Jarvis because of other vehicles, he added.
