Escondido

An unidentified woman who was found dead in Escondido Monday was beaten to death, the San Diego County coroner’s office announced Tuesday.

The woman was found about 6:30 p.m. Monday by a jogger on a slight embankment near Old San Pasqual Road, one-fifth of a mile east of Summit Drive. Escondido police were investigating.
