A 57-year-old Arleta grandmother was arrested Friday after San Fernando and Los Angeles police found more than a pound of a substance believed to be an amphetamine in her freezer, authorities said.

Authorities said Shelley Violet Scibilia was taken into custody shortly after 7:15 a.m. in a raid on her home in the 13800 block of Terra Bella Street by officers with a search warrant. She was taken to San Fernando Jail and held on suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics for sale, San Fernando Police Detective Paul Knight said. She later was released on $5,000 bail.

Police also confiscated $8,513 in cash, a stolen handgun and a stolen television set from the house, Knight said. The detective estimated the street value of the confiscated drug at $18,500.

Scibilia’s daughter and two grandchildren were home during the raid but were not arrested and are not suspects, Knight said.
