A truck carrying at least five types of chemicals overturned in Hollywood, injuring the driver, authorities said. The truck crashed in the 6300 block of Franklin Avenue, sending the chemicals, including paint thinner and hydrogen peroxide, spilling onto the pavement, city Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said. The Vine Street off-ramp of the northbound Hollywood Freeway was closed for several hours and a private contractor was called to mop up the spill. The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, and five other persons, complaining of sore throats and other symptoms, were taken to a hospital. Police said their injuries were minor. Cause of the spill was under investigation.
