Halpern Takes Reins at Semco

W. (Bud) Semco, nationally known consulting engineer, and chairman and founder of Semco, Sweet & Mayers, Inc., has retired and Steven R. Halpern, company president, will head the firm and assume ownership.

Semco established a course in distribution warehouse design and layout in 1958 at UCLA and taught the course continually. He founded his firm in 1947 and was honored in 1978 by the city of Los Angeles for his design and engineering work on city and county facilities.

He wrote many articles for trade and professional publications and created a classic guide on error prevention in order assembly for warehouses.
