Southmark Corp. will not acquire Carlsberg Corp.

The two companies jointly reported that Southmark had exercised its right to terminate its merger agreement with Carlsberg. Under the merger agreement, had it been consummated, Los Angeles-based Carlsberg would have become a wholly owned subsidiary of Southmark of Dallas.
