The CBS soap opera “As the World Turns” celebrates its 30th anniversary Wednesday. The show will take note of the occasion by having two of its original characters, Chris and Nancy Hughes, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They are played by Don MacLaughlin and Helen Wagner, who have been with the serial since it debuted in 1956. During this week’s episodes, other characters from years gone by will turn up to attend the anniversary party.

Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Doug Sanders will share their reflections on the game of golf in “The Trevino Connection,” an NBC sports special that is scheduled for broadcast April 6. In it Lee Trevino will look at the origins of golf and will recall some of its great moments.

Bruce Boxleitner’s 24-year-old sister, Nancy, will be a guest star Monday on his CBS series, “Scarecrow and Mrs. King.” She plays an inexperienced agent.

Faye Dunaway stars as a “Beverly Hills Madam” who must decide, in NBC’s words, “if the life she is living is worth the price she’s paying.” That’s the theme of the TV movie set to air April 7. Playing the “girls” who work for her are Melody Anderson, Donna Dixon and Terry Farrell.

Briefly noted: Pat Morita, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his performance in “The Karate Kid,” is starring in a comedy pilot for ABC about a police detective. . . . Former defensive end Jack Youngblood of the Los Angeles Rams is making his acting debut in a drama pilot for NBC. . . . NBC has set May 12 as the date for its 60th anniversary celebration, a three-hour special that will feature more than 100 celebrities.

The Disney pay-TV channel will feature a strong dose of Bob Hope along with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck this summer. The channel has collected nine films that it will be presenting under the “Bob Hope Theatre” banner from May until September, including “Son of Paleface,” “The Road to Rio,” “The Road to Bali,” “The Seven Little Foys,” “The Great Lover” and “The Lemon Drop Kid.”
