State Pensions

Share

“I just can’t imagine any justification for the level of government pension money afforded this guy” says Kent Burkhart (Letters, May 30) about Sen. Alan Cranston. Well, how about this level: Ronald Reagan receives an even higher pension from the State of California pension fund for his eight years as governor, and he “doesn’t even need it, either.” “Where indeed is the fat?” Ask your President, Mr. Burkhart.

And to C.V. Ruzek (Letters, May 30), does he accuse President Reagan of “ripping off the state government” by applying for and receiving his state pension? Or does he limit his accusations to Alan Cranston?
