House Guest Arrested in Westlake Robbery
A 34-year-old Simi Valley woman was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery Sunday after she disappeared moments before a man entered and robbed the Westlake Village house where she was a late-night guest.
Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies said they arrested Linda Fernandez after she made “inconsistent statements” about her whereabouts during the early morning robbery.
Authorities said Fernandez, a guest in the home of Paul Konis, 28, disappeared at 2 a.m. Konis was looking for his guest when he saw a man standing in his living room.
The intruder tied Konis’ hands behind his back, then gagged and blindfolded him. Deputies said the man took an undetermined amount of cash and other items.
Deputies said Fernandez later reappeared and untied Konis.
Deputies said they are still searching for the intruder.
