More than 1,000 New Delhi telephone operators returned to work with assurances of increased security, ending a two-day strike to protest the storming of a switchboard exchange by a pistol-packing politician. Delhi Telephone Co. operators told police that Prakash Chand Sethi, a member of the ruling Congress-I Party in Parliament and a former home minister, charged into the exchange, waved a pistol and demanded a call be placed to Bombay.
