Running back Kaleaph Carter gained 116 yards on 14 carries and scored 3 touchdowns Friday night to lead Edison High School to a 21-0 victory over St. Anthony of Maui in front of 1,200 fans in War Memorial Stadium in Maui Friday night.

Carter, a 6-foot, 200-pound junior who ran for 927 yards in helping Edison to the Southern Section Big Five Conference co-championship in 1985, scored on runs of four and 13 yards in the first period and added another four-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Edison’s defense forced five St. Anthony turnovers, and the Trojans didn’t cross the 50-yard line until their last possession. Edison lineman Rob Simonson recovered two fumbles, Gary Gordon recovered one and Mike Prince and Mike Markovsky each had interceptions. St. Anthony had one chance to score on the game’s final play, but a Trojan pass fell incomplete in the end zone.
