Israel’s Justice Ministry said it is investigating reports by Amnesty International that Arab prisoners were tortured in Israeli-occupied territories and south Lebanon. A statement said the London-based human rights group will soon provide the ministry with a detailed report on the allegations by former prisoners in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. The ministry denied any responsibility for alleged torture in a detention center in Israel’s self-proclaimed security zone in south Lebanon.
