San Francisco hotel workers have called off a proposed strike against Hyatt Hotels after signing a tentative three-year agreement with the Hyatt on Union Square and Hyatt Regency at Embarcadero Center. “Union members were busy making picket signs down at headquarters when we got word of the agreement,” said Tim Reagan of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union Local 2. Eleven San Francisco hotels have now signed similar agreements, which give employees who do not receive tips a 35-cent hourly pay raise each year and workers who receive tips a 15-cent-an-hour raise.
