Rudy R. Miller, StatesWest president and chairman, said the $12-million acquisition was scrapped because Royal West Airlines “was unable to obtain timely consents from various financial institutions and other parties required to complete the acquisition in the manner contemplated by our letter of intent.” StatesWest, based in Phoenix, offers service from Phoenix to the Laughlin, Nev., area and to four Southern California cities. Royal West, based in Las Vegas, operates passenger service from Los Angeles, Ontario and Burbank to Las Vegas and Reno.
