France gave Iran $330 million as partial repayment of a $1-billion loan, Iran’s official Islamic Republic News Agency said. The agency quoted Mehdi Navvab, the deputy economic and financial affairs minister, as saying France deposited the money in Iran’s account. The report did not name the bank that received the money. The loan was made in 1974 by Iran’s former ruler, the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, for a nuclear processing plant in southern France. Navvab said Iran and France had agreed only on part of their financial disputes, the agency said.
