‘Missing the Point’ on Hostages, Iran and Reagan
During the past few weeks any number of political pundits, including The Times’ editorial writers, have urged the President to purge himself of various members of his policy-making staff in order to regain his creditability.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand their thinking behind this advice. However, a sports-minded friend of mine continually reminds me that when a team gets itself into trouble, it is the coach they sack, and not the team.
