Buena Park : Convenience Store Clerk Shot, Robbed, Police Say
A convenience store clerk was shot and robbed Sunday night by two men who walked in and bought a pack of cigarettes, police said.
Two men entered the Circle K store in the 8500 block of Commonwealth Avenue about 9:30 p.m. and asked for a pack of cigarettes from store clerk Singh Kulwant, 24, Police Sgt. Terry Branum said. Kulwant told police that one man pulled out a gun and shot him in the thigh after paying him in change.
After Kulwant fell to the floor and crawled under the counter, one robber reached into the cash register and took an undetermined amount of money. The gunman then fired another shot into the counter, and the two men fled east on Commonwealth Avenue, the police report said.
Kulwant was taken to Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, where he was treated and later released, Branum said.
