The explicit testimony of a 9-year-old Santee girl helped convince a judge Monday to order David William Turner of Dehesa held on $1 million bail on charges of kidnap and committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.

The child testified that she was playing hide-and-seek with her brother and sister Nov. 1 when Turner, 25, grabbed her and carried her away. She said Turner tied her to a tree, ran off, returned, tied her to another tree, and then drove her to his home.

There, the child told San Diego Municipal Judge Dick Murphy, Turner molested her and held her captive overnight before leaving her in a dumpster behind a department store.

Murphy ruled that there was sufficient evidence for Turner to be tried in Superior Court on two counts each of kidnaping and molestation.
