2 N.Y. Mets Plead No Contest
New York Mets infielder Tim Teufel and pitcher Ron Darling pleaded no contest today to reduced misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest stemming from an altercation with Houston police outside a nightclub last summer.
As part of the plea bargain arrangement, misdemeanor charges against two other Mets, pitchers Bob Ojeda and Rick Aguilera, were dismissed. Teufel, 28, and Darling, 26, were fined $200 each and placed on one year probation. The four players were arrested July 19 after a confrontation with police at Cooter’s nightclub.
