Tustin : Clash Over Motel Bed Brings Stabbing, Arrest

Share

A dispute over who was going to sleep in which bed in a motel room ended early Wednesday with one man in the hospital and his roommate in jail, authorities said.

Police said Dom D. Pedotto, 23, was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of a minor stab wound in his waist. Rosendo Aleman, 32, identified as Pedotto’s roommate, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Officer Terry Richardson said.

Richardson said the two men, both from the Palm Springs area, were sharing a room at the Sixpence Inn in the 1600 block of El Camino Real when they apparently began squabbling over who was going to use which bed.

“As far as I know, they were friends,” Richardson said.

But that friendship apparently soured when the two struggled and one of the men allegedly pulled out a small pocket knife, Richardson said.

Aleman was booked into County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Richardson said.
