New Data May Lead to Ban on Pesticide Chlordane

The Environmental Protection Agency could decide whether to ban the pesticide chlordane by late spring or summer because of new information on airborne concentrations of the pesticide in homes, an agency scientist said Friday.

Chlordane, which the EPA believes may cause liver cancer in humans, is used to kill termites by underground injection around the foundations of buildings.
