The State : Quads Born at Stanford
A woman who was taking a fertility drug gave birth to quadruplet boys at Stanford Medical Center. The boys were delivered to Maria Velasquez of Fremont by Caesarean section, hospital officials said. She and her husband, Carlos, also have a 22-month-old daughter, Julianna. “I feel very happy, especially now that I know the babies are OK and my wife’s OK,” said the father, who recorded the event with video and still cameras. “I think I was crying a little bit. It was something wonderful,” said Velasquez, a mechanic. The boys, as yet unnamed, and their mother were in stable condition, the hospital reported. The four boys were seven weeks premature and their weights ranged from 2 pounds, 12 ounces to 3 pounds, 14 ounces.
