Bruce Carlisle, Whitney High School--The former coach blasted the annual First Interstate Bank-Amateur Athletic Union Small Schools Division All-Southern Section basketball team selections after last year’s co-most valuable player, Matt Bowley of repeat division champion Whitney High, finished second in MVP voting this season behind sophomore Mitchell Butler of Oakwood Academy: “This just isn’t right. We played a horrible game and beat (Oakwood) in the playoffs. Butler is a good player, but his best years are ahead of him. This was a vote for MVP . . . and Matt was the MVP.”
