Boykin Set to Sign With Texas El Paso

Shelton Boykin, a 6-4 forward who averaged 16.3 and 9.8 rebounds for San Fernando High this past season, has accepted a scholarship to Texas El Paso and is expected to sign a national letter of intent today. The spring signing period starts today and runs until May 15.

Reseda High’s Dana Jones, who shared City 3-A Player of the Year honors, said she will attend San Jose State and is expected to sign a letter of intent Friday. Jones, a 5-7 guard, averaged 15 points a game and led Reseda to the City 3-A championship.

Taft’s Kevin Franklin, a 6-4 guard who led the Valley in scoring with a 31.6 average, has visited Oklahoma State but is leaning toward USC. He said he may make a decision today.
