TAPING AT HOME

Share

While I sympathize with the artists from Blue Note Records (Morning Report, April 7), the home taping problem will not be solved by merely asking record buyers to not record at home.

This problem will persist as long as record companies continue to give the consumer low-quality cassettes to buy. Making higher- quality cassettes will not completely eliminate the problem. However, it will deter those of us who are sick and tired of our store-bought tapes that don’t last more than two years.

The record companies must give us a better, more reliable product or we will be forced to make our own tapes which sound better and last longer.
