Father Pleads Guilty to Sex, Drug Charges

A father charged with encouraging his young son to take drugs and have sex with a woman, pleaded guilty before San Diego Superior Court Judge Wayne L. Peterson Friday. His son is now 14. The charges covered several years.

The investigation of Clifford Wimberly, 36, of Santee, began last December when his 16-year-old daughter reported the sex acts to the sheriff’s substation in Santee and turned over pictures of her brother engaged in sex with a woman.

Wimberly could be receive up to 11 years in prison and a $30,000 fine. He will be sentenced May 28.

Wlimbery’s co-defendant and girlfriend, Carol Swenson, 22, of El Cajon, also pleaded guilty. She was charged with two counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine and will be sentenced May 29.

Victoria Wimberly, 35, the boy’s mother, had been charged with giving marijuana to her son. The charges were dismissed when the two children refused to testify against her.
