A British Airways Concorde supersonic jet nearly collided with a 15-seat commuter plane minutes after takeoff from London’s Heathrow Airport en route to New York on April 24, a British Airways spokesman confirmed. The Concorde, with 66 people on board, and a 15-seat Brymon Airways plane passed within 800 yards of each other, but the spokesman said no evasive action was required. Newspaper reports said the Concorde crew had apparently responded to traffic control instructions meant for another plane and climbed to the same altitude as the commuter craft.
