The Soviet Embassy said Wednesday it has filed a protest with the Australian government over a television program that satirized Vladimir Lenin and called Mikhail S. Gorbachev “a wimp.” However, Kremlin spokesman Yuri Belobrov denied reports the Soviet Union was considering trade sanctions against Australia following the showing Monday night of the program “Dingo Principle” on the government-funded Australian Broadcasting Corp. “We simply said our assessment of the program is being sent to Moscow for their consideration,” Belobrov told the Associated Press.
