It’s “Howdy Doody” time, but probably for more than a nickel and a dime. A recently signed agreement between NBC Enterprises and licensing agent King Features will allow the manufacture of apparel and gift items based on the wooden marionette of kid-show fame. Items based on the likeness of Howdy Doody--who appeared on NBC from Dec. 27, 1947, to Sept. 24, 1960--will soon be available in retail and specialty stores across the country, a spokesman for NBC said.
