1st-Quarter Net Rises for Triton Group Ltd.

Triton Group Ltd. on Tuesday reported that net income rose to $4.8 million for the first quarter ended April 30, from $836,000 for the same period a year ago. Revenue rose by 46% to $120.3 million.

Income from continuing operations increased to $2,339,000 from $764,000. La Jolla-based Triton also reported a $2.4-million extraordinary credit generated by a tax-loss carryforward.

Triton’s Continental Graphics Corp. revenue more than doubled, reflecting the acquisition last fiscal year of U.S. Press, a commercial printing operation.
